About Us
Wynnum Manly & District Meals on Wheels was set in place in 1958 under the operations of St Peter’s Anglican Parish. For the next 11 years the facilities were the kitchen in St Oswald’s Parish in Tingal Road Wynnum. This rent-free arrangement was a generous physical help and within this time the organisation established its place in the district. Meals on Wheels had become its own identity by 1978 and it had moved into the Waterloo Bay 50 and Over Leisure Centre. Operations were carried out here whilst visions of grander things were dreamt, and much needed funds were raised or acquired through Grants. Through negotiations with Brisbane City Council land was given and a lease arrangement forged so that in May 2020 the organisation moved into its purpose built premises located at 880 Manly Road, Wakerley.
We are a community service that operates with the assistance from the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). We receive funding from the Federal and State governments.
As a not-for-profit organisation we rely on the ongoing generosity and commitment of volunteers who donate their time and energy so that we can provide nutritious meals to our clients in either the short or long term.
Wynnum Manly & District Meals on Wheels mission is to provide a nutritious daily meal at a low cost to assist people to remain independent in their own homes for as long as appropriate.
We deliver meals to:

All donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
